Abilympics is an International skills-based competition for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). Abilympics originates from the phrase, “Olympics of Abilities” to showcase the potential capabilities of PWDs, thus encouraging an increase in employment opportunities.

The Malaysian Council for Rehabilitation (MCR) became a member of the International Abilympics Federation (IAF) in 2002 and thus became the official representative in Malaysia that organises the Abilympics Competition at the national and international levels.

Today, Kuala Lumpur International Airport was abuzz with excitement as the 16 participants and Abilympics delegates of the 10th International Abilympics 2023 arrived in Malaysia. The team represented Malaysia with pride and won a total of 5 medals in different categories.

Nur Amiratul Farahin Bt Ab. Rahman won a Silver Medal in the Painting & Waste Reuse category, Wan Muhammad Hafizunif Bin Wan Roslan won a Bronze Medal in the Cake Decorating category, Muhammad Hanif Naufal Bin Mohd Mazni won a Bronze Medal and an Excellence Award in the Restaurant Service category and Anis Humairah Binti Riduwan won an Excellence Award in the Embroidery category.

The Malaysian team's success in the Abilympics is a testament to their determination and hard work. Their achievements will serve as an inspiration to others with disabilities and encourage them to pursue their dreams.
