Bayan Lepas, 12 March 2023 – Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) announced its National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition (NHCCE) 2023 – Northern Region today at a media event officiated by Minister of Human Resources, YB Tuan V. Sivakumar.

Organised in partnership with the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC), the NHCCE 2023 – Northern Region is scheduled to take place in Penang from 31 May to 1 June 2023 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Bayan Lepas. It is the first stop for the regional series of the NHCCE 2023, following the encouraging response of the NHCCE 2022 held in Kuala Lumpur last year.

Themed ‘HR 5.0: Evolution in Human Resource Development’, NHCCE 2023 – Northern Region will discuss five key topics that aim to equip leaders, industry players, senior management, HR practitioners, and working professionals with the skills and knowledge to champion the implementation of human capital transformation initiatives in their respective organisations.

The conference will also feature more than 20 renowned local and international speakers and subject matter experts, as well as 50 exhibitors from various industries. The conference itself is expected to draw 1,000 delegates from the northern states of Penang, Perak, Kedah and Perlis.

Speaking at the media announcement, Minister of Human Resources Yang Berhormat Tuan V. Sivakumar said, “The Northern Region is one of the most important economic areas for the country, as evident by the successful Bayan Lepas Industrial Free Zone in Penang and the Kulim Hi-Tech Park in Kedah. Therefore, industry players in both states and the rest of the region must continue to invest in their workforce to not just attract but also retain the wider range of multinational companies in the region. This will require a fresh and innovative approach to their human capital development.”

“The NHCCE 2023 – Northern Region, will be an effective platform for subject matter experts and industry players in the region to discuss this in greater detail and develop a constructive discourse that will take Malaysia's talents to the next level. I hope all industry players here will take advantage of this opportunity and be a part of the event,” YB Tuan V. Sivakumar concluded.

The NHCCE 2023 – Northern Region was held in conjunction with the Hari Bertemu Pelanggan Kementerian Sumber Manusia, which took place between 10.00 am and 4.30 pm at the same venue.

Featuring 14 departments and agencies under the Ministry of Human Resources and three Penang state agencies, the Hari Bertemu Pelanggan Kementerian Sumber Manusia was organised to provide the community with a platform to engage the representatives of the Ministry and state government.

This allows them to learn more about the Ministry’s programmes and initiatives as well as services offered by the state. At the same time, members of the public could also ask questions, raise concerns and have their issues related to human resources resolved at the customer service booths on hand.
