PETALING JAYA, 11 January 2023 - The Association of Science, Technology, and Innovation (ASTI) officially launched a survey on success and failures of education loans among Malaysian graduates – recommendations to improve outcomes.

The world is changing very fast, particularly in the post pandemic world. Recent study shows that 72% of SPM students do not want to further their study. Certainly financing their education is a component in their decision making criteria. After our first study on the effectiveness of online learning and teaching during the Covid-19 lockdown in Malaysia, we now would like to conduct our next study that aims to explore how young people may decide in financing their tertiary education and to recommend changes in policies to improve outcomes for borrowers and lenders for the betterment of Malaysia.

We also hope this study will add to the national conversation on young people charting their own career path by making better and informed decisions.
