An 18,000 sq ft. indoor edutainment exhibition space, IOI City Farm, the first indoor farm park in Malaysia is the place to go for a fun-filled day of family-friendly activities to learn all there is to know about plants and animals. Designed with an ‘indoor farm’ concept to bring the outdoor experience indoors, the new space consists of two levels broken into three exciting and Insta-worthy zones for visitors to interact and observe more than 70 species of plants, small cute animals and fishes.
Firstly, visitors would access The Plant zone, known as ‘Green Land’, which displays a vast variety of over 111 living plant species spread across nine sections. This zone features a Vertical Garden, an Urban Farm, a Glocave, Mystical Cave, Season of Colours filled with giant lotus structures, Teeny-weeny Forest, Insectopia, and Roots N Seeds. One of the main highlights of the Green Land includes the 21.4m2 centrepiece known as the Green Glades. This idea of an open terrarium simulates an open forest while having a wide selection of plant species in this terrarium.
In the Vertical Garden, kids can investigate and discover fruits, vegetables, and herbs while in Insectopia, children could learn about the significance of plants and insects to the ecosystem. While admiring the breathtaking view of the waterfall in front of the Mystical Cave, where more plant species are waiting to be discovered, as well as being astounded by the mystical plants that glow in the dark at the Glocave.
The Animal Zone, a climate-controlled zone called ‘Little Rimba’, will be featuring 17 different species of animals from around the world and super adorable pets such as sugar gliders, hedgehogs, bengal cats, racoons, chinchillas, marmoset and fennec foxes amongst others.
Whereas in the interactive area of Little Rimba, guests will be able to enjoy spending their time getting up close and personal, petting and feeding small cute & cuddly animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks and ducklings while taking as many photos with the animals to their heart’s content. Finally, visitors will also get to experience more than 50 freshwater aquatic species that will be on display at the Aquatic Zone, known as "Fresh Water World," which is located downstairs. Some of the highlights include tiny crustaceans such as the vampire crab and bamboo shrimp, to river giants like the Amazonian Arapaima and Amur Sturgeon.
Additionally, The opportunity to participate in three different types of engagement pools is another added benefit for visitors. These interaction pools at Fresh Water World encourage visitors of all ages to experience petting stingrays, feeding koi fish, and trying their luck at catching fish! On top of that, should there be any visitors who are keen on learning more, there will be a team of friendly aquarists on standby who are ready and eager to educate on all the aquatic species available.
IOI City Farm will also be holding unique educational workshops and activities related to the three different zones regularly that shouldn't be missed. Furthermore, if you would like to visit IOI City farm with a large group, they also offer packages for parties, schools, and corporate family days as the venue is equipped with a party room that fits up to 20 pax. Whereas the park is able to fit up to 250 pax at any given time.
IOI City Farm is located at AT6, Level 2 of IOI City Mall, IOI Resort City, Putrajaya.
