Daehan Rehabilitation Hospital Putrajaya recently received a visit from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) on the 21st of July.
KHIDI is a government-affiliated institution under the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Korea that is focused on improving healthcare services and developing the health industry—which are goals Daehan shares.
Daehan is a private hospital in Malaysia that specialises in managing and treating neurological disorders and illnesses (such as strokes, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injuries)—using intensive South Korean style integrated rehabilitation services. Where necessary, advanced technological equipment is used to optimise treatments.
They uphold themselves to the highest standards of rehabilitative care with all of their therapists trained and graduating from rehabilitation hospitals in Seoul. Every month, their therapists are provided with Continuing Medical Education with South Korean professional trainers and medical professionals. This ensures everyone across the board are well aware of the best practices and medical updates so that they can deliver better care and treatment.
The goal of the visit was to discuss a potential collaboration between both parties as well as exchange knowledge and best practices to further expand and spearhead advancements in the healthcare industry—especially in the area of rehabilitation medicine.
The discussion also included the current challenges businesses are facing and how supporting policies can step in to help as the world slowly recovers from the detrimental effects of the pandemic.
The fruitful visit kickstarted with welcoming words from Daehan’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Julien Kim, followed by an introduction of the hospital and a facility tour—before ending with some light refreshments.
Both parties are hopeful that this visit will spark an alliance that will ultimately improve the healthcare industry and benefit society as a whole.
