MR D.I.Y. PLUS celebrates grand opening at MidValley Megamall

When it comes to home improvement on a budget, MR D.I.Y is no stranger to the game. This brand has everything from kitchenware to household accessories and so much more.

On 30th June 2022, MR D.I.Y. Group introduced their newly-opened MR D.I.Y. PLUS store at MidValley Megamall store.

The 30,000-square-foot store features approximately 20,000 different types of products divided into five major categories - namely hardware, household and furnishing, electrical, stationery, and sports equipment products; and others (comprising toys, car accessories, jewellery,cosmetics, food and beverage items, as well as health and personal care items).

Speaking at the event, MR D.I.Y's Head of Marketing Alex Goh said, "Customers today prefer great value products, the convenience of a one-stop-shop, and an engaging shopping experience. MR D.I.Y. PLUS brings all of these elements together in one exciting space - it's no wonder that over 200,000 visitors have been to the store in its first month, since we first opened our doors on 19 May 2022.”

“We do a lot of surveys including online, face-to-face, media comment and data analysis to meet customers’ demand. From these results, we will then decide the right items for the right branch at different locations,”said Goh.

He added that MR D.I.Y. Plus promises customers that they can still continue to shop for their daily essentials at everyday low prices, but also be entertained, educated and inspired in the process.

“We have a target in 2022 to open a total of 180 stores across all our brands. Most of the stores would be the MR D.I.Y. brand, or sub brands of MR D.I.Y.,” said the group’s chief executive officer Adrian Ong.

“We opened MR D.I.Y. Plus according to the outcome of the data analysis in business research the company has conducted. The idea is to meet customers’ demand to provide 20,000 types of products under one roof,” he said.

MR D.I.Y. PLUS joins the MR D.l.Y. Group's line-up of brands, which includes the original MR. D.I.Y. brand launched in 2005, followed by MR. TOY in 2019, MR. DOLLAR in 2020 and MR. D.l.Y. Express in 2021. The opening of MR D.I.Y. PLUS brings the total number of stores within the Group to more than 950.

As part of its grand opening event festivities, the retailer has lined up a series of celebratory activities and promotions from 1 to 3 July 2022. For a limited time only, customers who visit MR. D.l.Y. PLUS can also experience the store's unique DIY experiential boxes which represent MR D.I.Y. customers from all walks of life.

The DIY boxes include a working father, a housewife, a teenage girl, a sustainability lover, as well as a hardware and gardening enthusiast, making MR. D.l.Y. PLUS a store for everyone.
