This year marks the 45th year of SEGi’s presence as one of the prominent higher education providers in Malaysia.
The institution established its first education centre, Systematic Business Training Centre, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur in 1977, focusing on providing professional qualifications within reach of willing minds and natural talents.
Since then, SEGi has grown tremendously and is now one of Malaysia’s largest private higher education groups, with approximately 20,000 students in five campuses across Klang Valley, Penang, and Sarawak.
SEGi has received impressive ratings for its education excellence. Our latest achievements include SEGi University receiving the overall QS 5 Stars Plus status in the QS World University Rankings 2022. The institution takes pride in being one of only 19 universities globally and among two Malaysian universities to achieve this status.
Additionally, SEGi College campuses attained 6 Stars ratings in MyQuest 2018/2019, while SEGi College Kuala Lumpur achieved a 5 Stars rating.
Building on this success, SEGi will increase its effort of digitalising learning processes, including upgrading campus facilities to keep up with higher education international standards in the digital age.
Globalisation has changed the demands of the human capital market. Therefore, SEGi strives to improve students’ access, learning, and application of knowledge, which will help graduates to face work challenges in a highly globalised world amid the pandemic.
The institution champions diversity in higher education, which is reflected across all our campuses’ significant ratio of international students from nearly 100 countries. Further, the healthy interaction between SEGi’s local and international students encourages cultural exchange, giving them a global perspective.
SEGi will continue developing effective compliance, enhancing its sustainability and corporate responsibility efforts to benefit future generations.
