Besides that, The low literacy culture in Indonesia is a challenge that needs to be addressed from year to year. Based on a PISA survey released by the OECD in 2019, Indonesia's literacy position is in the bottom 10 of 70 countries. This is a challenge because the future of a nation is determined by social, economic, and education. As educators we will educate the nation's future children that will replace us in 10 years or more, therefore we must prepare qualified educators.
So how to improve teachers' skills in this era?
The first platform for teachers to improve skills in Indonesia
GuruInovatif is a channel for the realization of the program from HAFECS, one of the institutions established by the Hasnur Center Foundation. GuruInovatif is a digital platform that provides various resources for professional development that focuses on developing innovative teaching methods and mastering digital skills that are in line with the needs of the 21st century. HAFECS mission is to encourage the transformation of Indonesian education through the development of teacher competencies with teachers and educational institutions transforming rapidly in teaching and learning processes, providing inspiration in science. The vision and mission that become programs and products provided by GuruInovatif will be aimed at teachers throughout Indonesia.
How GuruInovatif.id Help Teachers to Improve Their Teaching Skills
GuruInovatif.id has so many things that can help teachers to improve many skills as our mission. We have various versions of online certification and events. Not only for that but we also develop many sharing features that help teachers to share their experiences and documents such as lesson plans, articles, and videos.
Not only providing products and sharing features. But we also develop extra features to make teachers easy to learn in our platform like help tickets, an automatic payment that works with more than 8 payment gateway, an integrated certificate, and a membership program.
In the first year after fully launching from May 2020, GuruInovatif.id achieved a milestone of more than 30.000 users from more than 300 cities in all 34 provinces in Indonesia.
Future Growth
GuruInovatif is the only start-up from Indonesia that was entered to be among the top 20 best start-ups in Asia on the Virtual GAP (Global Accelerator Program) Cohort 05, which is certainly a proud achievement as a new big beginning for improving the quality and skill of education that starting from the teachers. This program was organized from Malaysia by the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Center (MaGIC) since early June 2021 has provided many additional innovations in GuruInovatif.
An example of how big an impact when joining MaGIC is the emergence of the ‘Sekolah Juara’ program as a form to improve the literacy and numeracy of teachers and students in Indonesia. GuruInovatif wants to expand not only B2C but also B2B and B2G.
In the future, we want to become the best learning and sharing ecosystem platform for as many teachers and educators as possible in Indonesia by providing many products and features that are easy to use and accessible on both web or application.
