Huawei emerged stronger than ever before, ever since Google pulled out its services in 2019. Petal Search was then developed and launched by Huawei in the second half of 2020 with it being available on mobile and desktop platforms. Petal Search from Huawei is a next generation search engine. The Petal Search is certainly useful as it functions as a gateway to thousands of other applications for its users. It’s variety of functions will be reviewed later in this article.
Other than that, the Petal Search Shopping makes it easier to compare my favorite products across multiple e-commerce platforms i.e., Shein and Shopee. Usually, it is time-consuming to look through each and every product listed online on their respective website as there are so many different products posted by sellers and suppliers from all over the world. With Petal Search’s filter tool provided on the main page, it makes it simple for shoppers to look for the products that are relevant to them. The filter includes price range, size, seller, brands and even discounts.
One of my best experiences when using the app is it has an amazing load speed and another cherry on the cake is there are no ads! By clicking on any item, you will be sent directly to the item's ecommerce site. On top of that, it has a really handy function for price comparison across numerous shopping platforms, as well as a way to swiftly explore these sites without being bombarded by annoying pop-ups.
Furthermore, the Petal Search Nearby is noticeably unique in comparison to Google, as Google does not offer this feature. This ‘Nearby’ feature helps you to quickly find what you need around you such as nearby restaurants, shops, or other local services. It also gives you useful suggestions that are specially tailored for you, allowing you to instantly browse the top locations and services available around you. Petal Search Nearby consists of all services from 'vegetarian' food to 'vacation rentals', 'famous spots' and even the 'veterinarians'. For instance, the 'Flights' service allows you to directly book a flight to your preferred destination through this app with filters provided for you to select the time, the number of stops and also the type of airline. Same goes to the 'Hotels' services in which you can book your room directly through Agoda, Booking.com and more. Additionally, when you tap on the 'Directions' arrow button, it brings you to the Petal Maps app as it is associated with Huawei's Petal Search app to help you with the GPS navigation accurately.
Lastly, The Petal Search ‘Scholar’ is the feature I personally love as a student since it has been the most useful for me. I made full use of this function to do my research and reading via https://www.petalsearch.com/. The “Scholar” tab appears on the Petal Search main page and allows me to filter articles by date, relevance, citations and the language. The special “cite” feature of Petal Search Scholar allows me to easily cite my sources with just one click for my assignments. In comparison, although Google has something similar called Google Scholar, Google does not have the “Scholar” feature as one of the tabs on their main page. You will have to go through additional inconvenient steps such as adding extensions to be able to add Google Scholar on your toolbar which is troublesome and time consuming. Petal Search Scholar simply allows me to copy the citation of my sources of references (e.g., e-books, journals, websites and newspapers) and paste it in my assignments using the APA or even MLA format of citation. The Petal Search web browser uses the same interface as Petal Search’s mobile version. This feature is convenient, efficient and saves a lot of time. I absolutely enjoy using Petal Search Scholar on a daily basis.
All in all, I love Petal Search App’s simple design with almost everything found in this app. I would definitely recommend everyone to experience Petal Search on their devices as Huawei has done a lot in building this valuable application.
