With an illustrious history spanning 62 years, Taylor’s Education Group (TEG) is synonymous with educational excellence in Malaysia and the Region. Comprising Taylor’s University, Taylor’s College, British University Vietnam and Taylor’s Schools, TEG offers world-class education, spanning from the early years all the way to post graduate studies.

Taylor’s Schools comprises of some of the largest and most highly respected international schools in Malaysia and Singapore, which cater to the educational needs of more than 5,000 students from over 60 countries. The schools currently under Taylor’s Schools are Garden International School (GIS), Australian International School Malaysia (AISM), Sri Garden Schools, Taylor’s International School (TIS), Nexus International School, Putrajaya (NISP) and Nexus International School, Singapore (NISS) - all of which are renowned for their teaching excellence and academic results. Although each of the schools under Taylor’s Schools has its own unique aspects and attributes, what unites them is their commitment to delivering an exceptional educational experience that enables students to achieve their true potential.

The latest additions to TEG are Taylor’s International Schools, which will commence with the first campus in Kuala Lumpur in 2014 and the second campus in Puchong in 2015.

Neighbourhood International Curriculum School

In January 2014, Sri Garden International will become Taylor’s International School, Kuala Lumpur (TISKL), marking the completion of its transformation from a private national school into an international curriculum school with state-of-the-art facilities and a holistic approach to learning. TISKL will be the first of many TIS campuses that are planned to be set up throughout Malaysia. The second school, Taylor’s International School, Puchong (TISPC) will open its doors in January 2015. These schools aim to be exceptional neighbourhood international curriculum schools and continue Taylor’s fine tradition of developing the nation’s youth into well-rounded, purposeful leaders, ready to contribute and take their productive place in the global society.

A New DNA for Global Achievers

Taylor’s International Schools will offer the National Curriculum of England and Wales, to cater to students from early years all the way up to secondary, leading to excellence in IGCSE qualifications. The schools will also provide students with a solid foundation in three languages (Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin) as well as a unique Asian and Western values-based education that fosters the development of essential character attributes that will help graduates to excel in life.

“Taylor’s International Schools will bring transformation to students and to Malaysian society,” said BK Gan, President of Taylor’s Schools. “They will serve as ‘neighbourhood’ international curriculum schools in major cities throughout Malaysia. The schools offer great value for parents who seek an international education with strong emphasis on values and character building for their children. On top of that, students can also look forward to a seamless education with Taylor’s right up to tertiary level,” he added. The schools aim to produce a new breed of passionate learners and responsible leaders for the global community.

TISKL has undergone a comprehensive transformation over the past four years, both in terms of the physical environment of the school and its pedagogy and practices.

The premises of TISKL have been renovated, and new facilities - such as a two-level library, early years centre and a performing arts centre have been added. All classrooms have been equipped with broadband and interactive whiteboards, so that ICT can be seamlessly integrated into the learning. The pedagogical practices of the school have also profoundly changed to enable a more student-centred approach to teaching and learning. TISKL classrooms are structured to facilitate collaborative group work.

“At TISKL, we offer the best of both worlds. We provide a truly international education in an engaging and interactive environment whilst keeping our traditional core values and commitment to student centred learning,” commented Peter Wells, Principal of Sri Garden International who will move on to be the inaugural Principal of TISKL. “We have fine-tuned our curriculum and integrated Eastern and Western values into the learning. We want students to leave our school as well-rounded individuals, enriched - academically, sporting, and in performance, in fact receiving a good holistic education,” he added.
