Dr M admitted to IJN for observation, son says
Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) yesterday for observation, said his son Mokhzani.

Mokhzani said there was no cause for concern over his father’s condition, adding that the decision to admit him was made to allow him to be monitored following the passing of Dr Hasmah Ali.
“He was admitted to IJN for observation. The past two days have been quite stressful for Mahathir, but for now, he is okay and there is no cause for concern,” he said when contacted today.
Hasmah, 100, passed away at IJN on the morning of Sept 28 and was laid to rest at Pusara Negara (National Cemetery) in Precinct 20, Putrajaya, later that day with full state funeral honours.
Another of Mahathir’s sons, Mukhriz, had previously said that his father had been at IJN to accompany Hasmah throughout her treatment before she passed away.

Mahathir and Hasmah were married on Aug 5, 1956, and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year.
The couple have seven children.

Finally the man know he is just a mortal.... he was given the opportunity to do good for Malaysia and its people, now his reckoning has come, did he did good for the country or good for his family only? He knows and God knows....
For all living thing, the moment one is born, there is one sure thing in life. What is important is what one does during the time in-between the two events. TDM is obviously now grief-stricken and will be so in the next many days. Seeking refuge in IJN might be the good thing for him. It would provide him to reflect about all the things he had done during 6he time between the two sure events in life. When the time comes for the second event is not in his powerful hands but in the hands of a far greater power. Whether his time has been spent most fruitfully is not for him or the Rakyat to judge but for a higher power to do so. Do not overgrieve, take care, stay healthy, always.
