Underage marriage

  • Muda president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz has joined the chorus urging the Perak government to review its proposed first-time marriage incentive and exclude youths below 18.

“At the ages of 15, 16 and 17, these children should be in school instead of thinking about marriage.

“The state government cannot hide behind the justification that this age range falls within the definition of youth,” Amira (above) said.

Flag gaffes

  • Police investigations into Jalur Gemilang headscarves which were misprinted and sold at Mydin found that only a portion of the stock contained an error, according to Bernama.

Previously, a social media user had flagged that the star on the headscarves did not have 14 points.

Mydin subsequently pulled the product from shelves and apologised.
