• Pakatan Harapan is mulling a proposal for a new coalition structure, according to its communications chief, Fahmi Fadzil.

  “We need to make an effort not only to bring back veterans and former members such as Tian Chua, Dr Xavier Jayakumar and many others, but also to embrace all available strengths.

  “So I see this as one of the strategies that will be utilised,” Free Malaysia Today quoted him as saying at the National Day preparations in Putrajaya today.

  The communications minister was responding to former PKR leader Chua, who told FMT in an interview that Harapan’s current structure is “outdated”.

• Fahmi also confirmed that Harapan election director Amirudin Shari had met with coalition chairperson and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, amid preparations for the upcoming Malacca state polls.

  

  However, Fahmi said he was not privy to the matters discussed, including whether the agenda included a Harapan-BN seat negotiation plan.

  “Indeed, there have been many meetings and discussions over the past day or two. But whether that was one of the topics discussed, I was not informed,” the New Straits Times reported him as saying.
