Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamid's urging for Umno to emulate US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ability to influence public perception is disappointing, said PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar.

"I am disappointed if any Malaysian leader can sanction falsehoods simply for the sake of winning an election.

"Leaders must carry their responsibilities, there is no need to use lies just to win over the people's hearts," Nurul Izzah told reporters when met in Kuala Lumpur today.
