Gerakan Merah will hold "butt exercises" in front of the home of Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah "in the near future".

This comes after Bersih announced it will hold its fifth mega rally in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 19.

Gerakan Merah president Mohd Ali Baharom led a group of army veterans to conduct the same "exercise" in front of the house of then Bersih co-chairperson, Ambiga Sreenevasan, in 2012.

"Maria will get strong opposition from Gerakan Merah and we will not hesitate to conduct the second instalment of our butt exercises in front of her house.

"That is Ali Tinju's message to Maria so she will be careful. Just as Ambiga got a dose of our exercises, we will do the same for Maria at her home in the near future," Mohd Ali, who is better known as Ali Tinju, told Malaysiakini.

The "butt exercises" in 2012 featured calisthetics, which involved participants bending over with their rear ends facing Ambiga's home.

Ambiga reacted by offering isotonic drinks and water to the participants.

When contacted, Maria said she cannot stop Gerakan Merah as long as they remain peaceful.

"(But) I don't understand why they want to do it. I feel they really need to understand what is Bersih's demand," she said.

She also asked Mohd Ali to tell her when he is dropping by.

"Tell me when lah, I will serve them (drinks)," she quipped.

Mohd Ali said today that Gerakan Merah will also match Bersih 5's turnout by mobilising some 50,000 people on the same day.

"I advise (Bersih) to respect the law and not to turn the colour yellow into the colour of traitors.

"Why can't they wait for the general election next year, if they re so unhappy, instead of doing this stupid thing which will burden the rakyat?" he asked.

The Bersih 5 rally is themed 'Stand United, New Malaysia!'

Maria said the rally would be preceded by a nationwide Bersih Convoy, beginning on Oct 1.
