MCA Youth has jumped on the bandwagon to attack DAP on its purported Israeli ties as alleged by a PAS leader, citing a DAP member's support of Israeli windsurfers several weeks ago.

MCA Youth Young Professionals bureau chief Choo Wei Sern said DAP must "come clean" on its ties with Israel, referring to claims by PAS research director Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki that Israelis had allegedly offered DAP US$300 million (about RM1.2 billion) in the last general election,.

“In view of this allegation and the recent statement by DAP condemning the non-issuance of visas to Israeli athletes , we are eager to know DAP's stand on Israel and the party's ties and relationship with Israel,” said Choo in a statement today.

"DAP cannot run away but must answer in no uncertain terms on the existence of any relationship between the party and Israel, and whether or not the party supports and/or intend to work with Israel," he said.

Calling the allegations serious, he insisted that Mohd Zuhdi ( photo ) also provide evidence to back up his claims against DAP.

"We urge the PAS research director to share with the public in general whatever proof he may have to support his allegations," Choo said.

Mohd Zuhdi had reportedly said that DAP was offered the money and in return, would build an Israeli military base in Port Dickson if the party took over Putrajaya.

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang yesterday responded to the allegations asking his critics if they were implying the police had not looked into this matter for so long, as the allegation pertains to a matter four years ago.

If the claims were true, said Lim, the accusers would expect the inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar to explain "why the police have been guilty of such a grave dereliction of duty in their failure to protect the security interests of the country".

He also promised a "heavy price in court" for those behind these allegations.
