PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has reminded PAS and DAP to put the voters who supported them above the feud between the two parties.
"Of course we have differing opinions, but as elected representatives, we also have a big responsibility towards the people who voted for us," Azmin, who is Selangor Menteri Besar, was quoted as saying by The Star today.
"This crisis must be looked at as an opportunity for all the leaders to set aside their egos and make the people's interests their priority," he was further cited.
Azmin said this after PAS at its muktamar last week passed a motion to sever ties with DAP, which puts Pakatan Rakyat in limbo.
This was after pro-Pakatan Rakyat leaders in PAS was purged at the PAS election with conservative hardliners from the cleric faction taking over the party.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng ( photo ), who is DAP secretary-general, has also refused PKR's offer to mediate.
Instead, he said PAS should walk its talk and resign from all government positions in Penang.
Several pro-Pakatan PAS leaders, such as Mohamad Sabu and Mujahid Yusof Rawa, who were purged at the party election have already resigned from their positions in government-linked parties.
PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim who is serving a five-year jail sentence in a note today urged DAP and PAS to reconcile and hold Pakatan together.
