The conservatives in PAS continue to be "rejected" by their former right-hand men and women who used to assist them in gaining the rakyat's support.
Former singer Wan Aishah Wan Ariffin, better known as Aishah, was nothing but sarcastic in her Facebook posts last night.
Aishah, who was a well-known singer in the 1980s and 1990s, used a popular song by Indonesian singer Tegar ‘Aku yang dulu bukanlah yang sekarang’ (I'm not the person I used to be) to mock the pro-ulama camp in PAS.
PAS yang dulu bukannya yang sekarang,
Dulu PAS for All sekarang PAS for ustaz
Dulu dulu dulu dakwah kasih sayang
Sekarang dakwah siku lutut.
Cita-citaku menjadi hamba mulia
Dibimbing oleh orang yang kuat agama
Tapi tapi tapi apa dah jadi
Jemaah dicaci begini
.(PAS is no longer like it used to be
Back then PAS was for all, now PAS is for the ustaz
PAS used to preach with love
Now it uses elbows and knees .
My dream is to be a noble servant of God
Guided by the pious
But look what has happened,
Party members continue to be verbally abused. )
Aishah, who contested for the Jempol parliamentary seat in the last general election, said PAS no longer practised the same approach it had used before.
The former PAS muslimat wing member said the party had once used the slogan "PAS for all" but it is now seen that only the ustaz (religious teachers) have the right to be in the party's leadership.
Appointment rejected
In another posting, Aishah also said she had rejected the appointment as a member of PAS' cultural and recreational bureau.
"Why are the ustazah looking for the ‘jebon-jebon parasit’ (parasites) in PAS.
"Ustazah should look for other ustazah to do the work, don't taint the new leadership's purity. Say no to appointments," she wrote.
In the recent PAS election, holders of top posts in the muslimat wing, too, had failed to defend their posts. They were all defeated by candidates said to be pro-ulama.
