Concerned by the current state of Pakatan Rakyat, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has urged PAS to review its motion to cut ties with DAP which was approved at the recent PAS muktamar.

In a statement released through Padang Serai MP N Surendran, the former deputy prime minister expressed that he is very worried on the recent development pertaining to the political cooperation between PAS, DAP and PKR.

"I urge PAS to review the motion that was approved without debate, and not to implement at this moment," said Anwar, who is currently serving his jail sentence in Sungai Buloh prison.

He said Pakatan Rakyat was set up as the alternative to the Barisan Nasional's failed administration.

DAP committed in fight for change

Anwar stressed that all this while DAP has been their comrades, committed in the fight for change.

"I also know that DAP together with us can ensure that Pakatan Rakyat will continue to be strong and be the alternative choice for the people," he added.

He added that people are hoping for Pakatan Rakyat to march forward to resolve the political and economic problems brought about by the BN government, such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the 1MDB issue, as well as racial and religious polemics.
