COMMENT | We, the undersigned civil society organisations working on freedom of expression and media freedom, support the passing of the Malaysian Media Council Bill 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat.

The establishment of the Malaysian Media Council (MMC) marks a significant step towards fostering an independent, multi-stakeholder, regulatory, and accountable media ecosystem.
