In response to CT Wong's letter ('Equality that takes differences into account', Nov 7), gender equality is about giving men and women the support to pursue their goals and ambitions as they please.

If a 'spider' thinks that it wants to try flying around, it should go for it.

If it likes flying, it should go for it.

If it doesn't like it, but still wants to do it, it should still go for it.

If it doesn't like it and doesn't want to do it, then it should dump it.

There is no reason why the 'spider' can't fly and no reason why it can't do it as well as the 'fly'. No other other 'spider' or 'fly' should tell it that it shouldn't.

Do what you want to do, be what you want to be. Never let anyone else define who you are.
