After three months of gruelling elimination heats all over Malaysia, the biggest live music competition on the planet will have its grand finale at Planet Hollywood Kuala Lumpur on Nov 13, 2008 to crown one band as Malaysia's best and the country's bet at The GBOB Challenge 2008 (The Global Battle of the Bands) World Finals in London on Dec 14 and 15.
Fifteen outstanding bands from the Selangor, Penang, Johor and Kuala Lumpur heats have advanced to the National Final.
They are Lab Rat (modern alternative folk), Rollin Sixers (blues/ rock 'n' roll), SingleTrackMind (alternative rock), Houdinix (alternative), The Federated (funky punk/ rock 'n' roll), Wynken Delirium (rock/metal/grunge), Five & Dime (Retro/Funk/R&B/Soul/Classic Rock), Poseidon (experimental progressive/alternative rock), Day Seven (rock) and Vessel of Worship (Christian funk), Niskala (modern rock), Pledging New Foundation (Fusion/Progressive Rock), Rock 'n' Roll John (Rock 'n' Roll), Cynosure (Modern/Alternative/Hard Rock) and Pink Acid (Glam Rock).
The winning band will go home with RM50,000 in cash and compete amongst 38 bands from 38 countries in a two-night extravaganza of live original music to be held at the London Scala, London's alternative live music club and arts venue on King's Cross.
