I am an MCA member. I have been looking at the whole farce about the Nanyang Press issue from the inside and outside. In my humble opinion the issue is just being manipulated by some MCA politicians to move against the current leadership.

When MCA took over Star Publications, Lim Ah Lek, Chua Jui Meng and gang never said anything. Now, at a critical time, they choose to raise a lot of noise about the issue to the embarrassment of the MCA and Chinese community. This is not the way it should be done. If the opposing team wishes to challenge the incumbent, it should do so through the proper channels.

As such, I would like to ask for the understanding of all readers to seriously consider before making any drastic decisions. If we allow leaders to exploit issues like these to sway us into support them, then we, too, are merely pawns of these leaders. Who knows when we will become the sacrificial pawn one day.
