Several news organisations and individuals were left disappointed today when the Royal Commission report on the VK Lingam video clip was sold out today.
Fifty available copies of the report, sold at the Legal Affairs Department of the Prime Minister’s Department, were snapped up in about 30 minutes after it went on sale at 3pm.
The four-volume report costing RM541 was sold at a first-come-first-serve basis. Those who were unable to obtain a copy would have to wait for a reprint.
Interestingly, it was learnt from a department official that Lingam’s firm had purchased 10 copies of the report.
Given that the report has been sold out, Malaysiakini is making the first volume (191 pages) - which is the key portion of the report - available online in PDF version.
The second volume (1,187 pages) contains the notes of evidence, while volume three contains all the statutory declarations (513 pages) submitted to the royal commission and the final volume contains the exhibits (998 pages).
