One good turn deserves another, says Nik Abduh on Umno support

PAS no longer needs to urge Umno supporters to vote for its Seri Setia candidate as an understanding has already emerged.

Bachok MP Nik Abduh Nik Aziz says this is the fruit of having supported the former ruling party at the Sungai Kandis by-election.

“Previously (in Sungai Kandis) I had told PAS voters to vote for Umno. Today, I need not tell Umno people to vote for PAS. They will and it is surely happening, God willing,” he said on his Facebook page last night.

Nik Abduh noted that one good turn deserves another.

“They are committed to walk on the path of Allah with PAS in championing Islam. With this, they are sure to get huge rewards in the afterlife, God willing.

“Today, a new generation is aspiring for a new Malaysia and an Islamic politics that is more dynamic and open.

“History does not merit revenge and acrimony,” he said, adding that the disunity (of Muslims) is not a victory, alluding to cooperation between PAS and its former nemesis Umno.

Nik Abduh posted his message following nominations for the Seri Setia by-election yesterday, where 100 Umno supporters turned up in support of PAS candidate Halimah Ali at the nomination centre in Petaling Jaya.

In the third Selangor by-election after the May 9 general election, Halimah will face Pakatan Harapan candidate Halimey Abu Bakar in the latter's stronghold.
