Yoursay: PKR’s final-yard fumble as game draws to a close

YOURSAY | ‘People are ready for change, here comes the politicians to muck it up.’

Ambiga chides PKR for 'unforgivable nonsense', wants swift resolution

Have A Great Day: I want to thank National Human Rights Society (Hakam) chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan for giving PKR a piece of her mind and reminding them that all of us are rooting for change.

Whether PKR will come to its senses remains to be seen. They and some of their Pakatan Harapan allies, along with Parti Sosialis Malaysia, have all come up short.

Undecided: “When the rakyat is doing everything in their power to overcome obstacles to ensure they can vote and to help in the elections, this nonsense in PKR is unforgivable.”

Well said, Ambiga. This squabbling over seats really undermines confidence in the PKR leadership.

In this kind of situation, party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is still the key and the main person responsible for resolving this unhappiness, although most see deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali as the likely instigator.

Legit: There is no leadership in PKR, that is the problem. Everybody behaves like a leader and wants his or her way.

It does not matter what happens to the party, it doesn't matter if so many people are sacrificing their time and resources to help the opposition win and put them up there, it doesn't matter if a 92-year-old man is going around the country talking about changing the corrupt government.

What is seemingly so important to these power-hungry PKR leaders is to get a seat and get elected so that they can enjoy all the perks that come with it.

Headhunter: The weaknesses are glaring. The election is only a couple of weeks away and they are still playing their backstabbing game of one-upmanship.

Don't they realise people are getting fed up with their shenanigans?

Kheng: I fully agree with Ambiga. PKR has always been the weak link in Pakatan Rakyat and now Pakatan Harapan.

We, the people of Malaysia, are ready for change and here you have PKR personalities who think more about themselves than the rakyat to bicker over whether they are chosen to contest.

Get real, please. To the PKR incumbents or newbies vying to contest, please remember, we vote along party lines. Please resolve your issues behind closed doors. Do not disappoint the rakyat.

Pak Lam: While I'm sure Ambiga means well, I feel it is not necessary to further publicise any discontent within PKR.

I believe she has a direct line of contact to the leaders, so just speak to them to highlight yours and the people’s concern.

Sinan Belawan: Curious. Ambiga is not a PKR party member. The internal matters of the party should not come under her purview.

I wonder if Wan Azizah whispered in her ear for her to make a statement?

Cogito Ergo Sum: BN and its supporters will love this. But Ambiga’s remarks are appropriate and timely. You need to get your act together as soon as possible, PKR. Stop fumbling at the final stage.

Anonymous_7c9a867c: This is embarrassing. It is happening all over again. If you can't even get your party together, how would voters expect PKR to run the country?

All Harapan components seem to be going smoothly, there are no major issues except PKR.

No Nonsense: The people are willing and ready for change, but it looks like the politicians, especially those from PKR, seem not to respect their views and sacrifices.

Wan Azizah and Azmin, we have supported you from the very first time your party was formed. We have been waiting for this very moment for years. Finally, the path is clear, but we fear your petty quarrels will derail all our progress.

Please don’t let us down. If we don’t make it this time, our future will be doomed.

Good politicians must not stand in the way of what the people desire. They should facilitate, not hinder and block the change that the people are fighting for on May 9.

Anonymous Malaysia 2018: People come first; self-interest should come second. Nation comes first; personal interests come second.

PKR must wake up and do what the people want; not what some selfish people wish. Be careful of people who come for breakfast, lunch and dinner; and then deface your porch when they leave.

Equalizer 121: Indeed, PKR heads are getting swollen and beginning to act like Umno members. Hello, wake up, stop belittling us like little kids, we want change so work wisely, not arrogantly.

Every time they sniff some public support, which may not even be directed at them, they feel that they are entitled to a seat.

Lord Denning: If Harapan loses, it will be due to a lack of ideas to improve the lives of the people and showing that they able to handle the economy and bring growth and advancement.

Harping on the same issues of corruption, cronyism, 1MDB, and embezzlement is not enough to swing the votes to sweep you to power in Malaysia.

Some people would rather go with the devil they know than incompetents who can’t even get their party affairs together.

JD Lovrenciear: This is the problem, malaise, paranoia and cancer of Malaysian politics. They are reeking of self-interest, not building a nation of goodness.

I am sick and tired of their ridiculous dispositions, indecisiveness and clearly hollow leadership.

Non-Evader: Yes, I’m really, really disappointed. Hold closed-door meetings to discuss the matter, no matter how much you guys want to kill each other.

Anyone not willing to do this and who jeopardises the chance for Malaysia to achieve actual change is a traitor to the people.

Hopelessly: Why does BN even need the Election Commission to do their dirty work when you have the opposition parties in such disarray?
