Zahid: Don't resent BN's GE14 candidates

GE14 | Caretaker deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said there should not be any resentment whether one is nominated as a candidate or not for the parliamentary or state seats in the 14th general election (GE14).

Zahid, who is also the deputy chairperson of BN, said those nominated as candidates were the outcome of the final decision made by caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak as BN chairperson.

“Therefore, ladies and gentlemen who are invited this morning, don’t think too much about being renominated to represent BN because outside there are more people who are sad for not being nominated this time.

“The proposers and supporters of candidates, if there are problems among the resentment group, measures needed to be taken to resolve them,” he said when announcing the BN Perak candidates in Ipoh today.

Zahid said there should not be any internal problems, otherwise, measures or approaches needed to be taken to solve them.

“I don’t want to see and hear any such reports, if there is any, at any polling registration centre in any hotspots or flashpoints in the state.

“All the machinery or candidates must solve the problem among themselves and all resentment must be put aside and they be given the opportunity that they must win,” he said.

Zahid said efforts should be taken not only to retain existing seats but to regain more seats, adding that Perak needed to win over two-thirds majority in the state seats.

He also hoped that caretaker Perak menteri besar Zambry Abd Kadir would continue to lead and the people needed to give him their full support.
