The friendly-fire in PKR has worsened, with its Ampang division Youth chief Adam Rosly Abdullah demanding that party vice-president Rafizi Ramli comes clean on the funds collected for his NGO Invoke and for National Oversight Whistleblower (NOW).

According to Adam, numerous PKR leaders as well as activists have long been patient with Rafizi in order to preserve unity in the party.

“However, public interest must be given prominence. I can no longer remain silent,” he added in a media statement.

Previously, Adam criticised Rafizi when the latter urged PKR to distance itself from the businessman after he was charged with providing false statements and documents on his wealth.

Adam, who has denied the charges against him and is currently on leave from his party post pending his case, said Rafizi did not respect the maxim of being innocent until proven otherwise.

The spat between the two has led to speculation that it is related to the differences between Rafizi and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.

However, Rafizi denied this.

There were also exchanges on Facebook between Rafizi and PKR's central leadership council member Latheefa Koya over the draft logos for Pakatan Harapan.

Meanwhile, Adam said there is much concern over the large-scale public donations collected for Invoke and NOW.

“One strange thing is that Rafizi has failed to disclose details of the funds collected, despite always calling on others, BN and the opposition included, to declare their assets.

“In order to safeguard people's confidence in PKR and the opposition as well as to be in line with Rafizi's often expressed principle of transparency, I am giving him 48 hours to declare,” he said.

Adam said the declaration should be on the total sums collected from the public for Invoke and NOW, how it was spent and those who obtained the funds.

“If Rafizi fails to comply with this demand, I will take the appropriate action,” he added, without elaborating on what his next move would be.

When contacted, Rafizi said he is in the midst of preparing the income and expenditure statement.
