The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has sacked 20 staff members in a restructuring exercise after Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim took over the organisation's leadership.
In a Facebook post, FAM secretary-general Hamidin Mohd Amin said the restructuring exercise was endorsed by Tunku Ismail and the exco members.
"The objective is to manage and control the association's finances.
"Twenty administration and technical staff will be terminated of their services in the FAM to ensure the organisation meets its direction," he said.
