Opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had been admitted to a hospital for treatment, her political secretary Rodziah Ismail said.

However, her condition is not worrying, Rodziah said in a statement released late last night.

She also did not elaborate the exact reason Wan Azizah was admitted to the hospital.

"Because of this, she will not be able to attend the Dewan Rakyat session and Selangor state assembly sitting, as well as other events," she said.

Rodziah said only close family members would be allowed to visit her in the hospital, and upon the advice of the doctor.

“This is to give her ample time and space to rest and to be with her loved ones,” she added.
