Do DAP quitters want 'M'sian Malaysia' or 'Chinese honour'?

YOURSAY | 'First they said DAP deviated from "M'sian M'sia", then they blamed it for selling out Chinese?'

Malacca DAP faces second wave of resignations

Tangling: What is the meaning of Malaysian Malaysia? Answer: All Malaysian regardless of race have an equal say in the development of Malaysia. For those quitting DAP Malacca to say that DAP has sold them out for selling “Chinese honour” downright silly.

Anonymous 2461101488710988: I question your motive to resign at just before GE14. How much are you guys being paid for making noise at this hour?

DAP is still very much better than other rogue parties although I do not like a few arrogant and dubious characters in DAP.

Every party has its own bad apples. Is it worth doing what you are doing now? Please spare a thought for your future generations.

Anonymous 2456021485004935: Malacca DAP state secretary Liou Chen Kuang is contradicting himself. First he said DAP has deviated from “”Malaysian Malaysia”, then he said DAP sell out “Chinese honour”.

What do you really want, Liou? Do you want true spirit of Malaysia Malaysian or Chinese Malaysian?

Anonymous #00830595: Every time the general election looms, people jump ship. I hope DAP will still take this seriously and at least find out the main reason and correct things if they are indeed wrong .

Clever voter: Change is difficult and in some cases impossible. Such behaviour among former members of DAP is what we are today. As a struggling middle income nation we lack big picture to think beyond our color skin.

It is easy to blame and hurl insults. Reality is that whether BN is here or not, the economic and social landscapes will change. Political culture sadly hasn’t matured where political parties could not compete without using derogatory remarks coupled with stereotypes.

The ex-members should leave quietly since they do not accept the new realities. The racial based politics isn't the easiest. DAP, to its credit, wants to move away but faced resistance and scepticism. In reality the political landscape is shifting and parties have to respond.

The Analyser: Where does this talk about a new party come from? Consider two factors: It is too close to the GE to form a new party and expect any support. They are DAP members who have survived for a long time with no political philosophy and no policies it is difficult to imagine them coming up with either before the general election.

Secondly, they are complaining about lack of "Malaysian Malaysian-ness" yet on the same page they say they are unhappy with the DAP for "selling out Chinese honour" to gain votes.

Not much Malaysian Malaysian-ness there

'Nazri-Dr M debate on 1MDB nothing to do with gov't'

Anonymous 2436471476414726: Johari Abdul Ghani: we don't recall the auditor-general's report on 1MDB being debated in Parliament. All we know is every question on 1MDB has not been allowed in Parliment as if it is a taboo subject.

The report itself had been classified as an official secret. As for the PAC, we know that the chairperson and some members were changed halfway when the ongoing inquiry did not proceed to the liking of the powers that be.

So don't use these excuses to not have the debate. As far as the rakyat are concerned this scandal is not closed and never will be until the perpetrators are charged in court.

Budak SRJK (C): I remember clearly when the '1Malaysia Dah Bankrap' mega-theft exploded a couple of years ago, our "beloved" shameless, incorrigible and compulsive serial liar publicly declared that the mega-theft will be thoroughly audited by the auditor-general and the audit report will be debated in Parliament.

However, when the presumably "explosive" audit report was completed, albeit after numerous delays due to 1MDB's refusal to disclose important information, it was clamped under the OSA for reasons best known to the serial liar and his sycophants.

Now, can anybody be faulted if this liar has a worldwide reputation of a shameless incorrigible, compulsive serial liar? He suffers from such a severe case of "trust deficit" syndrome that it is beyond repair.

Caripasal: The government is quick to dissociate itself from the debate as it fears the leak of genuine information about the corruption. I hope Nazri Aziz will show us the PM and 1MDB's bank accounts during the debate. Don't cite the OSA or other excuses.

Nazri is more senior than Johari Abdul Ghani. No minister can claim they are debating on personal capacity.

Abasor: Can Johari Abdul Ghani cite paragraphs of the Hansard that would reveal when 1MDB was "debated extensively in Parliament"?

While you are at it, can you release recordings of the extensive debate on the auditor-general's report?
