Malacca DAP exodus
A total of 182 members from Malacca DAP, led by seven former state party leaders, left the party citing disillusionment.
This is the second round of resignations for the state DAP, after the party lost one MP and three assemblypersons from Malacca last month.
Najib's Kelantan blitz
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak holds a closed-door meeting with Kelantan Umno during his two-day visit to the state, which comes amid speculation of a snap general election.
At a public event later, Najib stressed that the BN-led federal goverment under him has not neglected PAS-led Kelantan, unlike his predecessor.
He is likely referring to his now nemesis, former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
PAS: Bersatu backs Act 355 amendments
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president and sole MP Muhyiddin Yassin agrees with PAS' efforts to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355).
Meanwhile, Kampung Tunku assemblyperson Lau Weng San told MCA it would be better to tell its cabinet members to resign than for DAP-nominated local councils to resign due to Act 355 amendments, as local councillors have no say on the matter.
DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang tells BN component party the easiest way to stop the Act 355 amendment is to withdraw support for Najib.
