Former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir has filed a defamation suit against ex-DAP vice chairperson Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim, over the latter's allegation of a secret pact between his father Dr Mahathir Mohamad and DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang.
The suit was filed on the former MB's behalf at the Kuala Lumpur High Court registry, earlier today, by the law firm of Haniff Khatri.
In his statement of claim, Mukhriz who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president, said Tunku Aziz since last December, had accused Mahathir of offering Lim the post of deputy prime minister, if Mukhriz was made PM in the event of an opposition win.
The allegation, Mukhriz claimed, meant that he was involved in the secret pact, that he was not sincere and transparent politically, that he had gone behind other opposition members' back in making the deal to make himself PM and Lim, DPM.
