The solidarity vigil for Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah was met with a rude shock tonight when at last 10 dead chickens were left near their gathering site.

This was the fourth night Maria's supporters have gathered near Dataran Merdeka to protest her detention under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).

A vigil participant, who only wanted to be known as Liew, said the chickens were left by the roadside and were emitting a foul rotting smell.
