Pakatan Harapan MPs have rebutted Putrajaya's examples of other railway projects which it said disproves the opposition's claim that the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) was the "most expensive in the world".
In a joint statement, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua and Kuala Krai MP Hatta Ramli said the examples provided by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan varied vastly from the ECRL project.
Abdul Rahman has highlighted the 57km rail project in Switzerland costing RM50 billion (RM860 million per km), the 177km rail line in Madrid-Valladolid, Spain costing RM22.5 billion (RM123 million per km), and the 48km rail project in Barcelona costing RM33.3 billion (RM697 million per km)...
