The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) welcomes any evidence that the Crown Prince of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim might have with regard to alleged corruption in the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
"With regard to claims that the Crown Prince of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim have in his possession a pendrive that holds various information about corruption in the FAM, the commission welcomes the prince to submit the details to us so that we can take further action.
"If the information has basis for offences under the MACC Act 2009, the commission is ready to take appropriate action according to the law," said the anti-graft body in a statement.
Tunku Ismail had claimed yesterday via a posting on the Southern Tigers Facebook page that he has in his possession a pendrive containing details on alleged corruption in the national football governing body.
Earlier today, also on the football team's Facebook page, the admin released two pages out of the 279, from the supposed internal report about misdeeds in FAM prepared by those he said are concerned about the state of Malaysian football and its governing body.
According to the latest post on the Southern Tigers page, only the two pages were released as decreed by Tunku Ismail in order to avoid naming certain individuals in FAM.
"Only two pages 3.1.2.1 and 3.1.2.2 out of 279 pages have been shared by us here as decreed by HRH Crown Prince of Johor to avoid persecuting certain individuals and withhold some of the information first as those information includes names that can have huge implications on those individuals," read the post.
The post also stated that Tunku Ismail is willing to meet with FAM officials and executive committee members in Kuala Lumpur or Johor Baru to discuss and solve the issue personally and privately.
"The aim of the meeting is to urge certain individuals to step down and pass on the duties to those with more calibre, dedication and integrity to be at the helm of FAM and the national team's management."
The post also quoted the prince as saying, that "individuals who will be heading FAM and the national team must be of calibre, capable, and accepted by everyone including the football fans in the country".
MACC was responding to the prince's claims of having evidence of corruption in his possession.
FAM has denied the allegations made by the prince that corruption runs unchecked inside the body, insisting that it has an internal committee that works to weed out corruption at all levels.
