A Malaysian was found dead in a hotel room in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday, the Foreign Ministry said today.
It identified the 33-year-old man as Mohd Azhar Abdull Wahab.
The ministry said in a statement that Ho Chi Minh City police were still investigating the cause of death.
It said the consulate-general of Malaysia was informed of the death by the Ho Chi Minh City External Relations Department.
"Upon receiving the information, the consulate-general promptly contacted the family of the deceased and conveyed the sad news. Consulate-general officers are communicating with the family of the deceased to render assistance and support," the ministry said.
The ministry extended its deepest condolences to the family of Mohd Azhar.
