PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli today exposed a document classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) to prove 1MDB’s links with Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT).

The Pandan MP made the drastic decision despite the risk of being slapped with up to seven years jail sentence for exposing an official secret.

He revealed the document at the Parliament lobby today, after LTAT refused to reply to his earlier queries.

Malaysiakini does not possess any copies of the classified document nor can it report the details of the document revealed at the press conference due to restrictions under the OSA.

Rafizi earlier claimed army pensioners have not received their LTAT members’ contribution since 2014.

The MP said he received complaints from some veterans that they have not received compensation for this, despite retiring six months ago.

He believes 12,000 former army personnel are affected and urged LTAT chief executive Lodin Wok Kamaruddin resign due to conflict of interest.

Lodin is also 1MDB chairperson.

'Good luck journalists'

At the press conference, Rafizi said he has made several exposes without untoward incident but cannot guarantee the same for reporters.

“Good luck to you all. They won’t be able to arrest us all. I am not sure how you’ll report all this. I’ve made several exposes before like this, so we shall see what happens,” he said.

He said he will wait for feedback from 1MDB before deciding what he will do next.

In a statement later today, 1MDB urged the authorities to investigate Rafizi for leaking confidential information.

It said 1MDB has in 2015 suffered from “cash-flow mismatch” but no longer owes payment to a LTAT’s subsidiary.

As such, it cannot be blamed for any delay in payments to LTAT members, it said.

It added LTAT will be clarifying the matter soon.
