Umno Youth information chief Jamawi Jaafar has urged party rebels Muhyiddin Yassin and Mukhriz Mahathir to quit Umno voluntarily or be sacked.
This is after the duo, together with former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and opposition figures, signed a declaration calling for the removal of scandal-plagued Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
"I ask that Muhyiddin and his allies to leave Umno in a gentlemanly and respectable manner," said Jamawi, likening them to "pus and sore" in the party.
Failing to do so, Jamawi proposed the Umno disciplinary committee and Umno supreme council sack Muhyiddin and Mukhriz based on clause 20.8 of the party constitution.
"I would like to stress that this proposal is not made blindly and was done after considering all angles.
"Sacrifices must be made to defend the wellbeing and harmony of the party by prioritising the party's interest and removing enemies from within," he said.
Jamawi slammed Muhyiddin for wanting to oust Najib, who is also Umno president, despite having pledged his loyalty to the Umno number one.
"I see his action to be unprincipled, hypocritical, and malicious," he said.
He said the issues raised, particularly about 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion that went into Najib's personal bank accounts, have already been explained numerous times.
"As a youth who loves the country and party, I am disappointed that Mahathir, Muhyiddin, and Mukhriz are being used by the opposition," he said.
Jamawi urged Umno members to remain united and not quarrel over this issue.
