Bank Negara Malaysia governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz hopes investigations into 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) affairs would be concluded before her tenure ends in April.
"I'm hoping that it can be all concluded by then so that I can hand over a clean slate to the next governor," she told the US-based business channel CNBC in an exclusive interview.
Zeti said the investigations were carried out by various agencies on different aspects of the strategic development company and the central bank had concluded its part.
She said enforcement actions were being taken and when these were finalised, the outcome would be made known.
"But, of course, we are not the only investigating authority, there are others. So, it is ongoing.
"Everyone wants a conclusion to it so that we can just move on and so that the currency will better reflect our fundamentals and we can deal with the other economic issues that the country is being confronted with," she added.
