Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has been told to retract accusations that Batu MP Tian Chua masterminded a meeting between PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar and a self-styled Sulu princess, or face further action.
"I will consider further action, but at this stage I call upon the minister (Zahid) to retract (his accusations)," Chua told reporters outside the Parliament lobby today.
Earlier, Zahid had accused Chua of setting up Nurul Izzah's meeting with Jacel H Kiram, the daughter of the late Sulu Sultan.
"Tian Chua is the person who arranged the meeting," said Zahid said.
Chua said the accusations were wild and baseless.
He added the retraction should be done soon.
"Don't treat it like the Lahad Datu incident where I was accused of insulting the security forces.
"When it went to trial they withdrew and I won the hearing. This shouldn’t be repeated," Chua said.
Zahid has refused to apologise and told the Batu MP to save his denials for the police and the courts.
