Selangor PAS today insisted it will never work with Perkasa despite the cordial embrace between PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali yesterday.
"Selangor PAS does not agree with any cooperation with Perkasa.
"Even though Selangor PAS is prepared to cooperate with those that respect PAS' principles and struggle against BN, we reject any quarter that brings in racial sentiments," said Selangor PAS commissioner Iskandar Samad in a Facebook statement today.
Iskandar, who is also PAS vice-president, said he had also sought clarification about Perkasa's visit to the party's headquarters yesterday.
"Central PAS explained to Selangor PAS that it was merely a courtesy call by Perkasa.
'They discussed matters which were 1MDB, the Securities Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) and the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA).
"There was no agreement to set up any form of cooperation as reported in the media," he said.
This was despite PAS posting a statement on its Facebook page yesterday announcing that the party and Perkasa had agreed to "cooperate" on 1MDB, Sosma and TPPA but denied any wider framework.
However, the statement was later edited with the word "cooperate" being removed and reworded to that Perkasa and PAS "agreed" on the three issues.
