Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has received more than 50,000 membership applications, said its secretary-general Mohd Anuar Tahir.
According to him, the 44-day-old PAS splinter party had received 12,000 applications from Kelantan, which is under PAS rule.
Mohd Anuar also said that non-Muslims were among those who applied to be members.
"We never expected to get 12,000 applications from Kelantan," he told Malaysiakini when met at Wisma Amanah in Kuala Lumpur today.
Mohd Anuar is also confident that Amanah's membership would hit the 100,000 mark by next year.
Apart from this, he revealed that several committee members have been given portfolios, such as Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad as communications director, Dzulkefly Ahmad as strategy, director and Hatta Ramli as election director.
He added that Amanah is also aiming to form 500 protem committees at the branch level nationwide.
He said for this purpose, the Amanah leadership will hold a roadshow in every state beginning Oct 29.
