Seven Orang Asli pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan Pos Tohoi in Gua Musang have been missing in the jungle near Pos Tohoi since Sunday.
District police chief Supt Saiful Bahri Abdullah said they were said to have fled into the jungle because they feared punishment for swimming in a river without permission.
The six girls and a boy are aged between seven and 11.
"Police received a report about 2.25am on Tuesday and search has been mounted," he told reporters yesterday.
Police with the help of villagers and People's Volunteer Corps (Rela) members are searching for the pupils.
