Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, the political secretary to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, has questioned whether DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng was having health problems that are affecting his ability to comprehend.
Ahmad was responding to Lim who was reported to have asked if Abdul Hadi was prepared to apologise for defending Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak after it was revealed that RM2.6 billion had indeed been deposited into the premier's personal bank accounts.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had said the amount was not from state-owned 1MDB but was a "donation" from an unnamed Middle Eastern source.
In an article yesterday titled " Apa yang LGE mahu " (What does Lim Guan Eng wants)" which appeared on PAS' official website, Ahmad lamented what he said was Lim's inability to understand Abdul Hadi's statements.
"I do not understand what grudge Lim ( left in photo ) has against Abdul Hadi ( right in photo ) to the extent that records show he had attacked Hadi no less than 20 times in a year.
Soft stance
"All (of Lim's attacks) were based on erroneous sources with their meaning far from what was actually said by Abdul Hadi.
"The only conclusion I can make at this moment is either Lim has serious health problems affecting his ability to understand simple writing and speech or, that he is a politician who cannot understand political speak," said Ahmad.
Ahmad questioned whether Lim was trying to create anger among PAS members and asked what purpose it would serve.
Abdul Hadi had on May 12 said there was no necessity for Najib to resign as prime minister over the 1MDB scandal.
This, he said, was because the country practised democracy and Najib could be removed in a general election.
He had also said there had been many other scandals prior to 1MDB.
While not an outright defence of Najib, Abdul Hadi's soft stance against his party's arch-rival was criticised by other opposition leaders, including Lim.
