Umno divisions in Perlis are allowed to invite whomever they want to open their respective delegates' meetings, said Perlis Umno liaison chairperson Shahidan Kassim.
He said all three Umno divisions in the state - Kangar, Arau and Padang Besar - would not be stopped or prevented from inviting the party president, deputy president, vice-presidents or any members of the supreme council to officiate their respective delegates meetings.
"Perlis Umno is open on this because we all are in one (Umno) family," he told reporters after presenting a saw to Perlis JPAM and a grass cutter to the Perlis Correctional Department in Kangar yesterday.
The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, who is Arau Umno division leader was commenting on the action by some divisions in cancelling invitations extended to party president Mohd Najib Razak, deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin and vice-president Shafie Apdal to open their delegates meeting.
Shahidan also advised Umno members to be moderate in their action and control their emotion.
