PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli said he fully supports Gerakan Harapan Baru, the new movement set up by PAS figures who were ousted in the recent party elections.

"I will give my full support and cooperation to them to generate a people's wave to topple BN in the 14th general election.

"I will be participating in the roadshow organised by Harapan Baru after Aidilfitri," he said in a press release.

Rafizi said he was confident that the establishment of Harapan Baru will lead to cooperations that can unite those who want to defeat Umno and BN in the next general election.

He noted that Harapan Baru is led by former PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu along with elected representatives and activists with a proven track record in the fight against BN.

"Some of them spent many more years fighting change than me and other young leaders," he said.

He added the establishment of Harapan Baru was a positive development amid the political, social and economic crisis plaguing the country.
