"The task force knew about this before the (media) expose and an investigation is being conducted," said the joint statement.

The task force further reiterated that the investigations on 1MDB is done in a transparent, independent and professional manner.
"Hence, the special task force hopes that no one will question the integrity of Bank Negara, the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in their duties and functions in the investigation,"
the four-paragraph statement added.
Baffling amounts of cash deposited
Yesterday, whistleblower site, Sarawak Report claimed that documents allegedly linked to the 1MDB probe showed an individual called Roslan Sohari entered the central branch of the bank in Kuala Lumpur on eight occasions between Feb 10 and April 23 this year.
Four of the deposits alone that amounted to RM900,000, were made in March, the same month Rosmah and Najib's daughter Nooryana Najwa married Daniyar Kessikbayev from Kazakhstan.
"Baffling amounts of cash were deposited into it during the course of just two months at the start of this year," the report stated.
Malaysiakini also checked Roslan Sohari's ( photo ) Facebook page which contained among others photographs of him with Najib.
Records on Facebook also revealed that the individual had "checked in" at various locations abroad when Najib was at these places, such as Jeddah (June 6, 2015, when the premier and his wife were there to perform their umrah), Kazakhstan (last year), Beijing (Nov 12, 2014, when the premier attended the Asia Pacific Economic Conference), and New York (where Najib attended the UN general assembly last September).
The task force is probing revelations made in The Wall Street Journal and also Sarawak Report that RM2.6 billion was deposited from 1MDB or its subsidiary into Najib's accounts in March 2013 just before the 13th general election.
