Tourism Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz has drawn more criticisms for urging royals, such as the crown prince of Johor, to not make political statements.
In a press release today, Johor exco member Zulkurnain Kamisan said Nazri was an "outsider" who was being "insolent" towards the Johor royal family.
"I urge this minister to look at himself in the mirror and reflect before talking about the royal institution. Don't play with fire.
"The people of Johor have never been traitors and we will object against anyone who tries to disrupt the unity of the people in Johor," said Zulkurnain.
Zulkurnain also questioned Nazri's standing in making statements about royalty.
"This minister's stand does not represent the Umno leadership or the people because he is just a Umno supreme council member that was co-opted," said Zulkurnain.
Meanwhile, 46 Indian-based NGOs in Johor have lodged a police report against Nazri over his remarks that Crown Prince of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim will be "whacked" for making political statements.
The report was lodged by T Katirber, on behalf of the 46 groups, at the Johor Bahru Central police station.
"I want the minister to apologise and retract the statement against the crown prince," said Katirber in the report.

Nazri told a press conference yesterday that the crown prince should stay out of politics as rulers are above politics.
However, he used the phrase " we will whack him " to describe how the crown prince would be castigated for meddling in politics.
