YOURSAY ‘If an opposition leader had said what Zahid said, he would be in jail.’
EC reads Zahid's warning as 'just advice'
CQ Muar: Election Commission's Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof's defence and response had been anticipated. Being a lackey and tied to a leash of Umno-BN leaders, he is duty bound to say things to please the "bosses".
So much about being clean and fair in elections. Only a change in the ruling government can we expect to remove such unethical and dishonest stooges.
Nick: Abdul Aziz, if you are independent acting without fear or favour, do your duty and ask Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to clarify his remarks.
As my Indian (nationals) friends, have told me; their EC is independent and governments change as the electorate decide, like what has occurred there last week. Malaysian politics has become worse than Indian politics since 2008.
Davesingh: Of course, the EC is BN compliant. Everybody knows that. Abdul Aziz is a senior government officer. It’s simple he does not want to lose his pension.
Thanks to former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad for starting all this nonsense. Mahathir used to tell the people to be grateful to BN. Grateful for what?
Whose money was being spent on the people and projects? Mahathir's own money? It was the people’s own money in the form of taxes and other levies.
Just wise up to BN's trickery, thieving, lying, corruption, cronyism and gerrymandering.
Oriole: It's really hard to say whose comments are stupider - the original threat or the explanation of it. Where do they dig these fellows up from?
But now that we have the expected answer from the pathetic EC, what the nation wants to know is whether Bersih, the Bar Council, Suhakam, Hakam and other bodies have the means to do anything regarding EC's reluctance to view the Home Ministry’s threat.
Tailek: What a numbskull. If an opposition leader had said what Zahid said, he would be on the way to jail by now. Double standards of the highest degree.
I think he deserves a Tunship for such undying faithful service to his political masters.
I was only joking with Rela members, says Zahid
Anonymous_1378093545: DAP candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd may not be pretty to you - which is irrelevant anyway, but she certainly makes a whole lot more sense than you have ever made, Zahid.
You are most certainly the worst home minister we have ever had. You bribed, then you threaten and then you say you were joking and blame the press for 'spinning' your words.
Zahid have you woken up to the fact that your head is not only buried in the ground, it is also full of smut and you are fast spinning your way out of relevance to Malaysians?
Proarte: If there was a word to describe Zahid, nothing would be more apt than 'celaka'. He is in effect attempting to bribe Rela members by saying that BN has financial allocation for it MPs and not the opposition.
But then mentioning in a very stern fashion that he knew who amongst them voted in the election, he was clearly implying that BN would know who did not vote for them and the consequence of that would be depriving themselves of financial benefits.
What an utterly despicable minister who is arrogant beyond measure. He does not understand democracy and has no respect for the dignity of the voting public.
His 'celaka' behaviour is confirmed again when he makes personal comments about Dyana calling her 'not very pretty' in real life. Does anyone now disagree with DAP representative RSN Rayer?
Bash: Zahid is back tracking now. 'Bad joke' fell flat on his face. Such an irresponsible 'boss' toying with Rela members' feelings.
He hasn't talked much lately but when he does it's full of nonsense. How can we take him seriously as a minister?
Homesick: Here we go again. It's either he is joking, misquoted or the media is spinning.
Dyana may not pretty in your eyes but she is a lot prettier than you in our eyes. More importantly, she is a far, far better human being than you.
Zahid warns Rela, I know who did not vote
Debater: In a democracy, ballots are supposed to be secret so that there will be no victimisation and intimidation as to whom to vote for.
So is Zahid breaking the law by claiming to know who had not voted? And worst, implying that if they don't vote for BN they will be in trouble.
Iiiizzzziiii: Now I have seen it all from the home minister. This goes to prove that many of the leaders don't have much IQ or EQ.
I hope many will rise up and show that we are made of sterner stuff and will not be easily intimidated by brainless politicians.
Lim Chong Leong: The abuse of power has become so outright since PM went on a rampage with his speech in Sibu on ‘I help you, you help me’.
This is unadulterated election fraud but the EC will not lift a finger. Democracy is dead in Malaysia.
